Diction is a Shopify app that helps merchants audit, draft, review and publish product copy. This policy explains what information Diction processes and why.
Information we process
When a merchant installs Diction, we receive the shop domain, Shopify app session and the product data needed to provide the app: product titles, descriptions, SEO fields, tags and basic catalog attributes. We also store merchant-provided voice-profile samples and settings.
When AI generation is enabled, the selected product information and voice profile are sent to the configured language-model provider to produce a draft. Diction does not send payment details to the model provider.
How we use information
We use this information to authenticate the merchant, run audits and generation jobs, show review screens, publish approved changes, meter plan usage, and keep version history so changes can be rolled back.
Retention and deletion
Shop-scoped data is deleted when Shopify's shop-redaction request is processed. A merchant can also request deletion by contacting us. Backup copies, if any, are removed on the normal backup-retention schedule.
Security and sharing
We use Shopify's authenticated APIs and store access tokens in the server-side session store. We do not sell merchant data. We share only the minimum product context needed with the selected AI provider, and with infrastructure providers that host the app and database.
